The ASI 20333 Touchless Soap and Foam Dispenser
You have, no-doubt, seen these things in public rest rooms everywhere. I have two of these beauties installed at our kitchen sink. One dispenses hand soap and the other, dish soap. Super convenient. Highly sanitary. I do a lot of cooking and make a lot of chicken. The risk of Salmonella being present in raw chicken runs from 4% to as high as 25%. It's the the most frequent source of food-born illness. I've had it and I don't recommend it. The ability to dispense soap without contaminating the dispenser is a good thing and the ease of use promotes better hygiene. The reservoir on these devices is huge so refilling them is an infrequent task. Also infrequent, apparently, is the presence of an electrical outlet under sinks. So, these devices are sold with a wall-mounted battery box that uses four D-cells. The batteries last quite a while. For the lucky folks who have power available under their sink , the manufacturer offers an AC power supply... for $70. That's insane. So ever-industrious me offers, for sale on eBay, a power supply kit for this ubiquitous product that supplies two dispensers. It costs $39.99.

Carbon Monoxide has made the news way too often lately. Here's how you can up your CO game. This device, from Kidde, adds flammable gas to its portfolio which is nice. When some unfortunate soul fails to correctly operate the stove or the grill you'll be all over it. The digital display is key. The thing goes off at 60 or so but anything above zero warns you that something's up. Lastly, it's portable. Take it along because your brother-in-law's a knucklehead. And who knows what's going on at your Airbnd? This thing is worth money. Find it here: https://amzn.to/4ki0cIl
